Our Wedding

Our story

We met during the 2004 presidential campaign, and became an item at the Montgomery County Democratic Party Spring Ball in May 2006. We have been riding the blue wave ever since.

Working at our polling place on election days and campaigning for preferred candidates has been a constant in our lives as we advocate for a livable planet, and for families. In addition we have taken multiple trips during our birthday week, including: Italy and Ireland - where we have roots; Paris on Bastille day (aka, Sylvia's Birthday); San Francisco, and Portland where Tom's son and his family previously lived, and Bozeman, where they now live. Plus a few places where Sylvia has been for extended periods of work: Tampa, Orlando area, New Orleans (all through the Mardi Gras season last year) and upstate South Carolina.

Last summer, Sylvia's big birthday turned into a surprise engagement party when Tom dropped a pillow to support his knee as he proposed. After helping him up, off we went to Vancouver Island, where we kayaked, shopped for rings, and celebrated Tom's birthday over high tea. Now its time to celebrate with you!

Getting around and parking;

The hotel is in Bethesda, which is somewhere in between St Michael's Church, in Silver Spring, the reception, upcounty in Boyds, and the next day brunch, at Zinnia back in Silver Spring. So you will need wheels (if you need a ride let us know and we will try to match you up with someone coming from the same location). Parking: The reception and brunch venues should have enough parking spaces if everyone at least pairs up. For the Church Ceremony and the Hotel, best to use nearby public garages. Most convenient way to pay is using the apps: ParkMobile or Passport. I will add a walking map for the two nearest parking lots to the Church (listed below).
